This is a collection of four video projects I created as part of my class assignments, all centered around personal storytelling. The videos range from personal introductions, narrative-driven short stories and camera shot explorations. I handled scriptwriting, filming, editing, and sound design across all pieces, using different formats and lengths to experiment with mood and pacing.
The Art of Angles: A Laundry Story
Inspired by an Instagram Reel showcasing camera angles through a grocery trip, I decided to put my own spin on the idea — using laundry as the theme.
As an immigrant from Myanmar, using a washing machine in the U.S. was unfamiliar to me at first. So, I documented my experience of doing laundry in a new country while experimenting with various camera angles. Everything was shot handheld, without a tripod, and later edited and color graded in CapCut.
How I got free Kpop Concert Ticket for my Crush
This is a real story that took a lot of courage to share. In a 3-minute TikTok-style video, I talk about how I tried (and failed) to win over my crush with a free ticket to her favorite K-pop girl group’s concert. I first saw her on the very first day of class at my community college, and ever since, I couldn’t get her out of my mind.
This video captures my honest attempt at impressing her, the behind-the-scenes of getting the ticket, and what happened after — all told through storytelling, emotion, and a sprinkle of humor.
Self-Brand
This is a straightforward one-minute TikTok-style video where I introduce who I am, what I do, and what I love. I combined clips from my past experiences, hobbies, and work to create a short self-branding video.
It highlights my passion for design and storytelling, and a glimpse into my personality — all packed into 60 seconds.
"No Rice in Thai Fried Rice?!" — A Server's POV
This video is a funny skit based on a real story from my friend, who works as a server at a Thai restaurant. He once had a customer who confusingly requested Thai Fried Rice without rice.
Inspired by that and other funny moments involving picky eaters and allergy requests, I brought the story to life by acting out both the server and the customer in a lighthearted, TikTok-style skit.
